This home is full of holiday cheer but with a twist on the typical red & green decor! Keeping the color scheme mainly neutral in this home was a must, considering it is a small space, with bold floors. Adding a Christmas tree that is tall, but skinny maximized the space in the living room, while still having the full effect of a big tree! We decorated it with all kinds of woodland creatures (lots and lots of owls) and other fun tree stuffers that made for a whimsical and peaceful looking tree!
Adding other neutrals with cozy textures was key in giving this living room an inviting vibe! We really wanted to incorporate lots of feathers and fur elements to make for a very cozy Woodland Creature Christmas, and I think it was a mission accomplished! The white faux fur throw, Fa la la la la pillows, and tufted ottoman are all textures that mesh perfectly together and really make you want to cozy up with a cup of hot cocoa right here.
Creating a homey and happy guest bedroom was a must in this home. With only 1 guest bedroom, we made this our designated Red Plaid room! There isn't any red throughout the rest of the main areas so we decided at least one space needed some bright and cheery items! With a backdrop of animal print pillows (to continue the woodland theme throughout) we added pops of plaid and a pillow with a fun saying as well to make guests feel welcomed. As for greenery, topiaries are my absolute favorite. I think they look magical and very winter-wonderland like. To top this space off, we added a big plaid bow above the headboard and now this room looks like one big Christmas present!
Ahhhhh, and lets not forget about the dining room table setting (what some would say is the most important, and also most difficult part about getting ready for holiday hosting!) I find it to be the most difficult only because there are SO many amazing options out there for center pieces, plates, chargers, napkins, and name tag pieces that it's just so difficult for me to just choose ONE! But because this year was a Woodland creature theme, my options were narrowed down to just a few and I came across the most perfect items at Michaels & Hobby Lobby! This whole tablescape is literally all Michaels & Hobby Lobby and it does not bother me one bit. This table setting is SO cute and so fitting for this home, and also affordable! Does it get any better?
I absolutely love the chargers on the table. Oh, I lied about there not being any plaid throughout the rest of the space! There is plaid on this table! Wooops. But I just LOVE these plaid chargers that set the mood for the whole table. Chargers are accented with large white dinner plates, and a variation of "Merry Christmas" and Snowflake themed starter plates on top! And for the best part, which every table setting should have, a decorative piece on top with each guests name. Assigning seats makes for a easy and convenient setting and allows you to seat yourself as far away from that crazy Aunt as possible. Just kidding, I would never do that! (Lol.)
Anyways-- I found these ADORABLE mini wreaths at Hobby Lobby (CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE) and then I wrote each guests name down (which I probably should switch them out and type them up in a fancy font because I have the handwriting of a kindergartner) but with the paper across the center of the wreath, it looks like each guest has their very own personal mini wreath. It's so sweet and so personal and a great way to make each person feel welcomed. As for the head of each table, I used a plaid reindeer to switch things up a bit and make the heads of the table feel more like "the head of the table". You can honestly use just about anything as name tags on your table setting (ornaments, wreaths, bows), just add their name! Super easy and a cute extra touch.
